How to cool your HATE of the job application process

The job application process is a frustrating time for all of us, but there are things you can do to cool your HATE.

  1. Have realistic expectations.  It will take time. You won't get results straight away. It won't happen over night but it will happen (unless you are really useless).
  2. Even the legends among us will get dozens or even hundreds of rejections. That’s normal.  Embrace it. Thrive on it. Consider each rejection as an injection of re-enthuiasim!
  3. Consider looking for a job – your new full time job.  You're working for yourself and you want results!
  4. Be patient.  Don't be in such a hurry. These things take time.  Don’t rush, judge the options carefully. Your ideal job could be just moments away...
  5. Prepare yourself for the interview.  Role play in front of a friend or family member – most people have to try hard to get over their shyness. The interview is all important - what you've written on paper about yourself is one thing, what employers really want to learn is how you react when they ask you tricky questions. They want to see you squirm. Be prepared. Get your scout badge in interview skills.
  6. Try things that work. For example: many career seekers like yourself have found that QJumpers online CV service (QCV) is a way to turn the whole thing around - rather than you looking for jobs, jobs come and look for you! You get head hunted for your skills! Information on how this works follows below...

How QJumpers can seriously help you, you could be interviewing for your ideal job in just 3 steps:

  1. First, we invite you to sign up for your very own online CV – (called a QCV) for FREE.  Part of doing this is as simple as “copy-paste” from your existing CV.  The other part asks you questions that prompts you to think about other areas of your experience, skills, and abilities that you might not have thought about before, but might be of high value to prospective employers.

  2. Next, you have the option to upgrade your online CV to a QPASS CV (price stated in the FAQ’s below).  This unlocks profiling sections in your online CV, and involves an interview with one of our assessors.  The purpose of the interview is to provide you with ideas and tips about how you can best present yourself on paper and in person.

We can also help to develop your interviewing skills, and prompt you to think big and long term about your career and map out how you may get there with additional training and experience.

  3. Finally, our software works through our database of 100s of current jobs from employers all over the country (and some from overseas).  The software has a single purpose: to find jobs that closely match up with your goals, skills, abilities, experience and potential.
